Attention Homeschool Families, friends and just curious folks… Join us at our family farm for a Cranberry Bloom and Bee focused day of learning, exploring and activities. Located in the southern part of Middleboro on the Carver / Wareham line we focus on growing our cranberries utilizing regenerative farming techniques, farming with nature you might say. We welcome you to join us at the farm to learn about the cranberry bloom, local pollinators, and make your own bog in a cup! Special guests from FoxRock Bee Farm to share even more about the amazing bee!  Join us for Homeschool Days and watch your child immerse themselves in an environment that nurtures their curiosity and connects them with the beauty of nature. Grab your tickets, pack a picnic, and get ready for a day of fun on the farm!  


 

Highlights of the Day:

Bog Talks (10:30 AM & 12:00 PM & 1:00 PM)
Learn about the growing cranberry vines and buds, and how we’re working to preserve the land for generations to come. You’ll leave with a new appreciation for how food gets from the field to your table. (20 minutes bogside).

History Talk (11:15 AM & 12:15 PM & 1:15 PM)
Learn about the history of cranberries in Massachusetts and check out some historic cranberry equipment (20 minutes under the barn).

Bee Talks with FoxRock Farms (10:30 AM & 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM)
The stars of our farm may be the cranberries, but let’s not forget about the incredible little creatures that help make the berry from the little white bloom: the bees! We’re thrilled to welcome a special guest from FoxRock Farms to teach us about these essential pollinators and how they play a key role in the success of crops like cranberries. (30 minutes inside the barn).

Wagon Rides around the Bogs
Hop on a wagon and ride through the picturesque cranberry bogs.

Bog in a Cup
Learn all about the layers that make up the cranberry bog. Make your own bog in a cup to take home and grow!

Self-Guided Discovery Walk & Regenerative Scavenger Hunt
Put on your explorer hats and set off on a self-guided walk around the bogs. There will be a dozen or so Did you Know signs along the way to fill your curiosity about all you see around the farm. Keep an eye out! You’ll be hunting for birds, bugs, and frogs as you explore this cranberry ecosystem.

Yard Games & Picnic Areas
Bring a picnic lunch, take a break & challenge friends and family to some classic yard games, or simply relax and take in the views. We have limited seating so feel free to bring a blanket. We have a multi stall restroom trailer with soap and water (we also have an ADA stall with a baby changing table).

Photo Op and other Fun
We invite the kids to try on waders and grab some great photo ops! Take some time to dig in our big sand pile with plenty of buckets, digger toys for the kids to use!
